010: say what you need to say

to be played at: Miu Miu, Dior under Galliano, Betsey Johnson

for the girl: who subtly seduces, not overtly vixen-ifies

mood: The initial inspiration was Daphne Guinness, a woman with “intensely-cultivated style and elegance“.  To capture her essence, I juxtaposed hip-hop mash-ups with sultry jazz. The end result leaves a dissatisfied taste in my mouth. The playlist is lacking; it lacks layers/complexity/jus. The simple solution is to learn how to/gain access to the technology and create my own mash-ups. For comparison, listen to the Miu Miu Fall/Winter 2009 playlist – a truly compelling/creative/seamless mash-up.

songs that didn’t make the cut, sadly: many, many, many jazz songs.

“Say What You Want to Say”: I want to belong to the “rare group of women who can conduct entire conversations with their style” and I want to say what I want to say by mashing together song lyrics that are not my own.
