004: whoa! man!

to be played at: Comme des Garçons (i wish!!!!)

for: the character in Eri Wakiyama’s illustrations

mood: The initial inspiration was a collection of illustrations by Eri Wakiyama – it’s avant garde, street style, with a new york kind of stare.  It led me to explore dark disco songs with prophetic spoken words and feel-good club songs. The playlist is perfect for the Comme des Garçons models – boldly doing their own thing no matter what is going on in the world around them; living the mantra: “beautiful not necessarily pretty.”

playlist (1 hour, 4 minutes):

Law of Life – Farah, Christopher Kane SS 2008

Ave Maria (Hello Kurt Remix) – Mondkopf

On’n’On – Justice, BCBG Max Azria FW 2012

songs that didn’t make the cut: Kayne West – Jesus Walks (too overused and predictable)

“For something to be beautiful, it doesn’t have to be pretty.” – Rei Kawakubo

For something to be right, it doesn’t mean it’s easy.
